Background
This demo was created to demonstrate the design, functionality, and features of a modern daycare website. The goal was to build a site that showcases how childcare centers can have an engaging, safe, and approachable online presence. It highlights parent-friendly navigation, program pages, scheduling integration, and a guided tour experience.
I handled every part of this project: from concept, design, and development to deploying the live demo. The project also allowed me to explore WordPress layouts, interactive guided tours, and accessibility-focused design, ensuring that the site is both visually appealing and user-friendly for families exploring childcare options.
Challenge
The main challenge was creating a site that feels like a real, professional daycare website while still being a demo. I needed to design pages and features that clients could envision for their own sites, including clear calls to action and program information. Eventually, I’d like to include demo calendar integration for scheduling tours. Another challenge was using bright colors in a complementary way while still maintaining accessibility guidlines and meeting WCAG standards.
